What is Summer STORM?
The Summer STORM program is designed for youth entering 5th-8th grade. We focus on creating age appropriate programming that will engage and empower youth interests and abilities, while teaching important social and emotional learning skills. We seek to incorporate as much youth voice as possible and provide an active, adventurous summer!
When is STORM open?
STORM is open from 6:30 am until 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
STORM begins on Wednesday, June 12 and ends on Friday, August 16.
STORM will be closed July 4 and 5th for Independence Day.
What is at the Noreen Activity Center (NAC)?
The NAC has a full gym, lounge, game room, including air hockey, foosball, ping pong, and a pool table, plus a quiet space to chillax. We also have access to a full kitchen. Weschcke Park is within walking distance and hosts basketball and tennis courts, and a playground.
Is breakfast, lunch, and snack provided?
Yes! Breakfast will be served at the NAC from 7:30-8:00 am. Lunch will be provided at the NAC or Moreland Elementary School everyday except for field trip days. Snack is offered at 3:00 pm everyday.
Can I bring my bike or scooter?
Yes! We will bike, scoot, and walk to lunch at Moreland and the West St. Paul pool. Helmets are required for ALL biking and scootering. Bike racks are available outside the NAC for youth to lock their bikes overnight. Youth must bring their own locks. Scooters can be stored inside the NAC for use all summer.
Can I bring my cell phone or other technology to STORM?
In order to bring a tech device, youth and parents/guardians must sign a technology contract. Our mission is to provide a safe and inclusive environment and to balance screen time with living in the moment.
